Fiasconaro Sicilian Lemon Paste Colombina, 100g

Fiasconaro’s Colombina is flavoured with Sicilian lemon paste. Grown in the Italian sunshine, the lemons give the cake a wonderful citrus flavour and aroma.

A Colombina is a smaller version of a colomba. This traditional Italian Easter cake has a texture similar to panettone. Traditionally flavoured with candied peel, the cakes are enjoyed at home and given as gifts. This version swaps the peel and dried fruit for fragrant, zesty lemon paste.

Fiasconaro’s colomba are handmade in Castelbuono, Sicily. The slow, natural leavening process creates a light, soft dough. We love the thin layer of sweet icing, topped with crunchy almond sticks.

Serve your Colombina with a glass of prosecco or chilled limoncello. It’s delicious on its own or topped with a dollop of whipped cream.

Presented in a beautiful white and yellow box, this Colombina is a lovely Easter gift.

About Fiasconcaro

Fiasconaro was founded in Castelbuono, Sicily in 1953 by Mario Fiasconaro. Mario started out as an ice-cream maker and pastry chef, and his first great masterpieces were mountains of profiteroles. His three sons, Fausto, Nicola and Martino, began learning the art of pastry when they were children. Today, the three brothers still lead the company. Nicola is the production manager and an award-winning pastry chef. You’ll taste his expertise in every bite of Fiasconaro’s luxurious panettones and torrone.
