Ozeki Junmai Rai, 720ml

Ozeki junmai rai sake is a new take on the traditional Japanese rice wine. Rai sake is crafted from amazake – a creamy fermented drink – to produce a rice wine with a umami depth. The unique brewing process for this sake offers a gentle earthiness with subtle notes of caramel on the nose and a light-bodied finish. Sip this all-rounder wine with grilled seafood, spicy sushi rolls and yakitori skewers.

You can drink junmai rai sake at room temperature, very gently warmed to between 30 and 40°C or chilled.

Junmai sakes are characterised by their rice polishing rate of 70%. The polishing rate is how much rice and outer rice bran is polished away during the milling process. The higher the polishing rate, the more intense the rice flavours in the sake. Junmai sakes are famed as flavoursome and characterful sakes which make excellent companions to food.
