Dulce de leche is a smooth, gooey caramel paste popular in the Spanish-speaking world. Sweetened milk is slowly heated, changing texture and colour as it caramelises to form dulce de leche.

Dulce de leche is used to flavour ice cream, sweets, cakes and churros. Try drizzling it over a cheesecake or using dulce de leche to fill artisan chocolates. It can equally be enjoyed simply slathered on a piece of toast.
