Terre Exotique’s angel hair chilli - ito togarashi - are hot and fruity strands of chilli and a stunning decoration on top of noodles, sushi or salads. Harvested in the Tianjun region of North China, these thin, fine strands of pepper rate 5/10 on the Scoville scale - very strong but not explosive. In Japan they’re called ito togarashi or sil gochu.

Also try the chilli strands over seafood pasta for a kick of heat, infuse in butter sauces and drizzle over seafood, or add to tomato sauces for stews and soups.

Be warned, this delicate chilli is deceptively hot! So be careful to wash your hands after touching the strands, as the oils from the strands will make your eyes burn.
