Rose harissa is a North African condiment made with chilli, garlic and spices. Crushed rose buds add a subtle floral flavour and aroma. It’s used as a marinade and added directly to soups and stews.

Mill & Mortar uses organic ingredients to make their rose harissa. Three types of chilli are paired with garlic and spices like fennel, cumin and coriander. The result is a rich, spicy paste that adds heat and depth to your recipe.

Mix rose harissa with oil or yoghurt to marinate meat and fish. It’s fantastic with chicken and firm fleshed fish like monkfish. You can also brush it over cauliflower or skewers of vegetables before grilling or roasting.

Rose harissa is a great way to spice up lentil soups and tomato sauce. Add it to shakshuka for a brunch dish with extra zing. We like to swirl it through hummus and creamy dips. Scooped up with toasted pita, it’s the perfect pre-dinner snack.
