Clearspring Shiitake Mushrooms - Organic, 40g

Clearspring shiitake mushrooms have an intense savoury flavour that adds depth to soups, sauces and stir-fries. They are an essential ingredient in Asian cooking but can also enhance Western dishes like stews and pasta dishes. Rich in umami, they are even more flavourful than fresh mushrooms and will keep for months in your store cupboard.

Add soaked shiitake mushrooms to a fragrant Asian broth or a speedy stir-fry flavoured with garlic and oyster sauce. The earthy mushrooms will enhance the flavour of ramen, grain bowls and risottos. Try mincing shiitake mushrooms and adding them to the filling for dumplings or spring rolls.

To rehydrate the mushrooms, soak in hot water for 30 minutes or until they have softened. Discard any tough stems and add them whole or chopped to your dish. You can use the flavourful soaking liquid as a base for soups, gravies and vegetarian stock.
